Our theme for the 2022-2023 school year is "Strength For The Journey"
To help learn how our faith can move mountains, our classes will take turns learning about different groups in our community and the world that need our help. Each class will share what they learned with the other grades, and organize a hands-on service project that will benefit their specific group.
September 2022
Save-a-Pet
The 6th and 3rd graders work together to create posters about The Save-a-Pet Foundation. The 6th graders took the lead in collecting, counting and sorting the donated items. They collected boxes filled with dog and cat food, bird seed, kitty litter, dog collars, towels, toys and more! They worked with their 3rd grade buddies, with the help of Mrs. Noon in art class, to create blankets to donate to the shelter. Thank you to everyone who helped make this first service project a success!

February 2023
Bernies Books
The 2nd & 5th graders went to Bernie's Book Bank on January 14. Our 2nd graders stickered/stacked about 8,500 books, and our 5th graders sorted through about 9,000 books. They loved the work, especially knowing they were helping children.
The school donated 2,103 books to BBB this year! They worked hard sorting and counting the books throughout February. When they visited the BBB, they sorted books by genre and applied stickers to help process donations. It was a wonderful way for children to help other children. Bernie's Book Bank is Chicago's largest provider of quality children's books. Two out of three low-income children have no books of their own. BBB gives children 12 books per year from birth-age 12, currently serving 300,000 students.
