Music Education Services
Students in grades 4-8 may join band classes offered by Music Education Services. Band class is held twice a week for Beginner, Advanced Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels. Band members join with students from other schools for three concerts each year. They have the opportunity to participate in the Solo Festival. Music Education Services offers instrument rental. Elementary classes in drawing and cartooning for ages 6-12. Classes meet once a week for three sessions each school year. Please see their website for more information and to register.

Students in grades 3-8 can particpate in our Coding Club, which presents more detailed information about computer science and programming. This Spring we are happy to offer four levels of coding club that include a level open to grade 2!
Prince of Peace Catholic School is excited to sponsor eight First League Lego Robotics teams at three levels. These include: First Lego League (FLL) Jr. Kindergarten-2nd grade, FLL 3rd-8th grade, and the First Tech Challenge 6th-12th grade. This year, the POP teams preseted at several First LEGO League competitions and expositions, including placing in top 10 at State.
POP Rocket Club and TARC
ROCKET CLUB:
Is a one-on-one, hands on STEM club where students will learn how to design, build, and fly their own rockets. Open to students grades 4-8.
As the students progress and become more interested, they may participate on the Redhawk Rocketeers TARC (The American Rocketry Challenge) team and be able to earn scholarships with individual and team participation.
As a club member in The National Association of Rocketry (NAR), they will also receive a Sport Rocketry Magazine subscription

ROCKET TEAM:
6th-8th grade students may be selected to become part of The Redhawk Rocketeers Rocket Team. This elite team of students will work together to design, engineer, create, and fly a rocket to achieve a specific TARC challenge. TARC is the world's largest rocket contest. Students will compete against teams across the nation.
2019-2021 - The Redhawk Rocketeers became the #1 TARC rocket team in Illinois!
Past team members have earned thousands of dollars in scholarships!

Students in grades 3-8 have the opportunity to join the school choir and sing at our weekly school Masses as well as special events.
Students as well as parishioners in grades 4-8 can become altar servers.
Students in grades 5 & 6 help maintain our school garden.
